2017 Arts Programming

Jake Duggan Tatamagouche

At the Grace, we're working hard to bring you a great season of arts programming. We kicked off 2017 by holding a free CD release concert for local country singer Jake Duggan. The concert, standing room only, was a huge success - the entire community came out to support Jake! (Watch a video of their fantastic encore here.)

In addition to our regular Thursdays at the Grace events, including Open Mic Night and Trivia Night, we're beginning to roll out the 2018 Creamery Square Performing Arts Series. So far, we're thrilled to announce that Addison Locke, Celtic Rant, Alycia Putnam, Sean McCann, Unforeseen, Keith Mullins, and Tomas Kubinek will be performing at the Grace this summer. Advance tickets for all events are available here.

Proud Member of the Atlantic Presenters Association (APA)

Early in December, Malory had the immense pleasure of representing the Creamery Square Arts Society at our first ever Block Booking Meeting with the Atlantic Presenters Association (APA). At this meeting, we got the chance to pitch potential musicians, theatre troupes, children's performers, and comedians we'd love to see at the Grace in the 2017-18 season. Malory came away with some great options to present at our venue and she cannot wait to start booking for next year.

The APA is a nonprofit organization that unites arts presenters from across Atlantic Canada. The benefits of being an APA Member are innumerable: from mentorships, to the block booking software, to the feeling of being part of a network of community presenters. We at the Grace Jollymore Joyce Arts Centre are thrilled to be the APA's newest member and cannot wait to immerse ourselves in the wonderful community of Atlantic presenters.

Watch Gary Blackwood's THE SEER Online

Last September, the Grace Jollymore Joyce Arts Centre had a great crowd for local director Gary Blackwood's screening of The Seer, a suspense thriller filmed entirely on the North Shore with local talent. Well, we have an awesome update for fans of the film. The Seer premieres today on Fandependent Films, an online film festival. The movie can be viewed for free until November 28th and you can vote for it as "your favourite." The winner of the Fan Favourite vote will receive a distribution deal. Click here to watch Gary's excellent film and show our North Shore pride!

Seasonal Hours of Operation

As the warm summer fades quickly into the crisp fall, so too will the Grace Jollymore Joyce Arts Centre in Creamery Square move to seasonal hours of operation. From October to January, the Ice House Gallery will be open to the public on weekends or by appointment. Our current exhibition is Linda Chisholm's Reflections, a wonderful collection of oil paintings and watercolours.

The Grace Jollymore Joyce Arts Centre will still be open in the evenings during all of our scheduled events. Coming up soon is Garnet Rogers (Oct 22) and Trivia Night (Oct 27), which will round out the month of October. View a complete list of our upcoming events on our Events page or on Facebook.
